Meet the Therapist

Hi! I’m so excited for the opportunity to get to know you and potentially work with you! My name is Liz Rich and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both the states of Missouri and Illinois.

Every therapist has their WHY, their reason for entering the field. While I was inspired to pursue this profession for a multitude of reasons, one specific instance stands out. When I was at a personal low, a therapist showed me immeasurable kindness. His words, “You don’t get into this profession unless you’ve been through tough times,” and the immense compassion which he showed me have stuck with me through the years. He helped me to feel that someone understood my pain, that someone was standing and holding that pain with me, that someone was there to care, and maybe most significantly that I was not alone. So, I say to you now, I’m here because I’ve been through my own sh*t, and I hope that I can help you to feel heard, understood, and seen in the way that therapist did for me.

Being a therapist is not just my job, it is a part of who I am, and you will get nothing but my real, genuine self in our sessions.

A little bit about me

I graduated with my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 2015 and with a Bachelor or Arts (BA) in sociology/anthropology and religious studies from Westminster College in 2013.

Outside of being a therapist, I am a queer Jewish woman, a mother, and a partner, amongst many other identities that I hold. I am an avid reader (I finish 100+ books a year), and also enjoy writing fiction (that may never get published), watching movies and tv, spending time with my family, and many other things depending on the day (hello ADHD related hobby hopping).
